Greetings from The Big Apple, where Steven dropped in for an appearance on the Today Show.
If you’ve always wondered what you can do on an indoor grill, check out this spread (left to right): Balkan pork, veal, and bay leaf kebabs; grilled pound cake with pineapple salsa and tequila whipped cream; chili rubbed shrimp cocktail with avocado corn salsa; beer can chicken (cooked in a stovetop smoker); and grilled camembert with grilled tomato salsa. You probably recognize Steven and the Today Show cast, but you might not know the tall guy to the left of Katie. You will soon. It’s Steven’s stepson, Jake–a terrific griller in his own right and chef of the restaurant Pulse across the plaza from the Today Show studios in Rockefeller Center.
Pulse may be the best kept lunch secret in Manhattan–a white tablecloth restaurant serving terrific Asian inspired food with an equally terrific view of the ice skating rink at Rock Center. It’s located in the Sports Club LA and if you go there, be sure to say hi to Jake and tell him you’re a member of the Barbecue Board.
