An Unexpected Hot Dog

Yesterday, my father in law invited me over for an "Asado" (a traditional Argentine BBQ with way too many meat products) since my wife was doing a girls weekend thing in Tahoe and I was a bachelor. When I reviewed his list of things he was grilling, it included Sweetbreads, Blood Sausage, Cross Cut Ribs and something I'd never seen before. He said it was a Cuban Sausage called "Butifarra". I half expected it to be close to an Italian sausage - but it ended up being the best hot dog I ever ate. I guess these are really popular in Miami and you can get Spanish (Catalan) and Peruvian versions as well. Anyhow, he got his at his go-to Latino Market under a brand called "Mr Tango". Of course, what other brand would a die hard Argentine buy? Here's what it looked like in the package:

And by the way, Mr. Tango blood sausages are about the best, so I trust the brand. This "Hot Dog" is going on my list.

There is no such thing as "way too many meat products". :wink:

Those Cuban butifarra hot dogs sound interesting and definitely worth trying. It looks like they're strictly a pork product so I wonder how they'd compare to some other forms of sausage.
