now don't think the following statment is blasphamy but... my wife dosent really like smoked meat, but i like it. Now since we share the same bed i try and please her so i was wondering if i cooked (indirect) a beer can chichen at low temp (220) on my gas grill ( i can get it that low) with lot of wood chips in the smoker attachment, would i be wasting a chichen or would this produce a lightly smoked bird she would like. thanks

Why not do the beer can chicken with NOTHING in the smoker box?

Use lots of nice flavorful rub (including IN the beercan).

If you use natural lump you will get a slight wood flavor without adding any wood chips.
