I'm up for it, but how much extra for shipping once someone gets the order? It may make it a moot exercise!

I called them and they said shipping was about $8.00. Then to ship it to one more time would be $6.00. (Thermapen said they charge $6.00 for a single order) Estimate $4.00 if we use snail mail. I calculate about $76 - $78 each. If you bought one at a time it would be $91 ($85 + $6.00 s/h). Seems worth it to me.

Sorry guys I'm ahead of you. I've got 3 "sold" on a group order with friends and family here locally. As soon as I "sell" 3 more I'm set. So I need to pass on your grouping. Thanks though, good thinking.

If I'm not mistaken, the "infrared" you asked about is what is known as a remote reading device. You point a beam at what you want to measure and get a reading. These are no good for cooking as they measure surface, not internal temperature.
