I was listening to Music Choice on Time Warner Cable the Blues channel and heard this guy come on with his song Barbecue Blues. Good stuff.

What do you guys listen to when you barbecue? I isten to a wide variety of stuff but seem to find myself with Steely Dan on quite frequently.

For pure barbecue enjoyment, I found that Southside Johnny does the trick for me.

No, no, no... this discussion is all off in the wrong direction. BBQ isn't for listenin', its for watchin'. Football and BBQ. Mmm that's good.

I like to listen to the "oldies", or a good ball game if there is one on. If it's during a good Family gathering we just enjoy getting caught up on things..

I find that if a family gathering includes the inlaws the grill is a great escape. "Gotta check the grill" :D

Personally Jimmy Buffett is the only way to go while grilling (of course a beer in had in a requirement by code where I live!)

If you're listening to Buffett isn't obligatory to be drinking a margarita?!?

Come to think of it . . . I'm usually alone when I grill and haven't considered putting a radio out on the patio. The only music I've listened to while grilling is the searing of flesh hitting the grate. Love that sound! Maybe I'll put some tunes out while grilling some chicken under a brick this weekend and do it right.

Yeah and to complete the picture, you'll need to be grilling up a nice puppy drum or tuna filet :)

Sounds a bit masochistic -you really should invest in some barbecue mits however, there is only so much flesh you can sear per season.

No kiddin' I lost most the hair on my left arm the 4th of July in a backdraft flare up grilling burgers. Fortunately the flesh didn't fry.

a nice cold Corona works well with the Buffett music - My wife always plays Cheeseburger in Paradise when I am fixing burgers
