Hello Board:

There are rumors that Sears takes used Charbroil grills & rebuild them as kenmore. Is this a true statement,
I have One... :?

I don't know if this is the truth, but I hate mine. Next time I buy quality. I now believe you get what you pay for.

I doubt they rebuild used grills, but they probably have CharBroil or Brinkmann build them to their standards. The Charmglow I have at work is built by Brinkmann.

in Columbus, GA makes Char-broil, Thermos
and possibly Sunbeam grills among other
lines of products that I was surprised to
see listed on their site.

They also make some of Sears cast aluminum
grills. The next step up to the enamel or
SS hoods look like Brinkmann's.
The Elite series look like Grand Hall's product.

Grand Hall makes(in China) Sam's, Costco's and others
premium line including some at BBQ Galore.

As for recycled grills?
Was that even a serious question? :?

How would you even go about collecting them!!??

I sold high end appliances (Viking, Wolf, Dacor, Thermador, Gaggenau) for years. Sears makes nothing. They contract with major manufacturers to produce the Kenmore line. Sometimes they simple put the Kenmore name on an existing product, and sometimes an item is made to their specs.

I've heard that the Kenmore line is Char-Broil. I have had my Kenmore for 2 years now and so far so good.(Knock on wood) All ittakes is a little TLC(Tender loving Cleaning) and your grill will perform.

I've had my Kenmore 3 burner for 4 yrs now and it still works great. I've used it every winter and there is still no rust on it. No complaints here. I was a $300+ grill that was clearanced at the end of the season for $150. I ws looking at getting a Weber, but couldn't justify the money at the time.
