Looking very good Murman. Nice job indeed!!
Get a dolly for easy drum mobility, as well as for keeping it off the surface...and you're all set!! Or just save your money for more meat!!

Thank you. I agree, a drum dolly would be nice. I searched on-line, but most seem to be in the $40.00 range, plus shipping.
I am going to move my thermometer from the lid to the below the grate, or just put in another one. The one on the lid is an extra CharGriller part.
I did a 2-1-.5 on a rack of BBRs yesterday. They came out dry. I put 3 chicken leg/thigh parts and two breasts on when I foiled the BBRs. Pulled the chicken after 1.5 hours, internal temp 180ish. They had no real smoke flavor, but were properly cooked. I put two split pecan limbs in for the inital cook. I should have put on additional smoking wood when I put on the chicken.
Cook and learn. _________________ Weber Smokey Joe

I just ordered two thermometers. One for the lid, one for the drum.
$30.00 for two, shipped. _________________ Weber Smokey Joe

Just me, but I wouldn't bother with a therm at the lid. Put the therm just below the food grate where your food is. _________________

Drum is looking good. I didn't even bother with a thermometer in mine. I just use my ET-73 when I'm cooking. Even if I'm just cooking ribs, I just use the cooking temperature probe. One less thing to get in the way when I'm cleaning out ash, etc. _________________ Large Big Green Egg
