New Year's already?

It's been a fantastic 12 months and I want to thank all of you for helping to make this this best year ever for the new www.barbecuebible.com. We've got huge plans for 2014.

So one resolution for the coming year in barbecue: resolve to try a dish you’ve never grilled before. Rabbit? Sweetbreads? A whole hog or whole fish fish? Dessert on the grill or smoker? Promise to grill something new this year—you might just find a new specialty.

For more resolutions, check out my New Year's resolutions blog.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and SMOKIN' 2014!

SR

Three resolutions for me this year:
    More grilling in general
I'm going to try rabbit on the grill again, and
Squirrel, of all the crazy things

The last two are because I just got back into shooting and passed my firearms test with a 97% score. Since I bag a few squirrels a month I figured I ought to see how they taste. The Duck Dynasty guys seem to love squirrels even though once they're skinned they look like something out of Guillermo Del Toro's nightmares.

As for rabbit, I get them on my lawn all the time so I figured I ought to give the local owls and hawks some competition. And since the guy down the road sells his farm-raised bunnies for almost triple the price of a chicken (bloody rip-off artist!) I'll just shoot them myself.
Unlike propane, you'll never wake up scorched and naked in another county because you mishandled a bag of briquettes.

There are several new things I want to try.
The main one is the mussels with pine straw.
I also want to grill more sea food/fresh water fish in general.
Daniel

Grilling is great, it gives me an excuse to play with fire.

22 years of service is excellent - I'd say you deserve a new one!

I think I want to broaden my horizons with seafood this year. I do want to finally pull the trigger on prime rib......

With any luck I'll actually get to use the grill-s this year! Didn't have the $$ for much when I did have the time and decent environment.

Did manage to manage The Best Baked Beans on the Planet three time I think. They never fail me- always get t=great comments, no matter how I change it. :bbq:
