Has anyone bought a bag of Duraflame Hardwood Briquets recently? I picked one up a few weeks back and it seems like the briquettes themselves are larger and more crumbly during and after a cook. In fact, I took a couple of cold, partially burned ones and was able to crumble them in my hand.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I finally got a reply from Duraflame and the service rep wrote that the briquettes haven't changed, so maybe it's just me. However, they're going to look into it so we'll see what happens, and I'll buy a few more bags and do my own research.

Sounds like they got wet.
One year a K-mart near here had pallets of Kingsford
stored in their garden center all winter out in the open.

No overhead cover at all.
