I am looking to build a grilling station at my house and have most things figured out but I need help and advice on the charcoal grill.
The station will be 10' to 12' long with a roof, lighting and perhaps plumbing for a sink.
Base will be made out of mortar and stones found in the yard during recent excavation and it will contain the following:
*Vermont Castings gas grill with the base removed so it can sit directly on the grill station.
*Hand made wood fired oven made from clay excavated at our house.
*Charcoal grill for the specific purpose of indirect grilling.
My wife is very comfortable with the Webber we have, and wants me to incorporate it into the grilling station. I personally have never liked the bowl design and want to make her something that can fit more charcoal and handle cooking a 25lb turkey or something larger. The turkey she cooked for Thanksgiving last year was practically touching the top of the Webber lid.
I have some pics below of the clay oven we will build as well as the general design and a pic of a camp grill that I thought may be useful to buy and then modify with vents and a hood.
Any help would really be appreciated.
