Open the Champagne: Barbecue Bible Sells 1 Million Copies

It’s official, folks. The Barbecue Bible (or more precisely, the 10th anniversary, new full-color edition of Steven’s landmark book, The Barbecue Bible) has just passed one million copies in print. Steven thanks all of you from the bottom of his heart for making this extraordinary moment possible.

So what makes the 10th anniversary edition different from the original book?
First, photographs. 100 color photos from master food photographer Ben Fink to show you what the finished dishes should look like, and step by step how to get there.
Second, a new introduction, covering all the new grills that have become available since the first Barbecue Bible was published (including infrared grills, pellet smokers, and kamado cookers, like the Big Green Egg).
Third, a new FAQ section, including answers to 150 of the questions you’ve posed on the Barbecue Board, covering everything from how to nail the perfect brisket to how to grill fish without sticking and chicken breasts without drying them out. Steven even tells you strategies for winning your next barbecue contest and how to find a great barbecue restaurant in a new city.
Finally, many of the recipes have been updated to match the ingredients you find in the supermarket today. (When Steven wrote the book in 1998, the average baby back rib weighed a little over a pound. Today it weights more than 2!
To celebrate, Steven will be on tour in May and June. (More about Steven’s tour in future blogs. For Steven’s tour schedule, click here.) Below, Steven celebrates on Maxim Radio in the studios of Sirius in New York.
