There was an earlier post called plates.

It doesn't really answer that in tremendous detail, but its a start.
If it aint broke, Break it!
Then rebuild it better.

Basically WeberBoy. you just have to have some server space somewhere that you can link to. The image cannot be located on your hard drive. If you don't know where to put your image, ask your ISP if you have server space available to you, most times you sign up with an ISP you will, many times people just don't use it. Then you would just type in the URL,(http://etc) surrounded by the tags. Good luck.

Are these your real license plates, or just photoshop jobs?

I've tried to get "sharky" in just about every place I've lived.. it's all taken!

At least I got sharky.com!

They were nicely done by a gifted member of the board, my plates are actually still NY to keep the money out of the nasty NJ insurance syndicate. Have you tried sharky-1, or sharky-2? I am confident that, being that I have never seen one, you will soon come upon a number that isn't taken, as a bonus, you will be one up on all the people before you- literally.

This question was asked some time ago. In the past, these plates were hand pieced together in multiple graphic programs, a very tedious effort at best. But I recently stumbled across a website that creates the plates for you. It’s very, very simple to make your own license plate if you wish. Just go to: http://www.acme.com/licensemaker/ and choose your state, the year plate you want it to look like and type in your custom license plate number/message. Be sure to right-click on your graphic and save it to your local computer!

Have fun. :D

Let me mention one IMPORTANT thing about this license plate WEB Site: http://www.acme.com/licensemaker/ ! The problem is you can't link back to it. They have a disclaimer that says they'll block linking just below the new plate after you create it. Please read the instructions. You'll have to find a server on the Internet to host the image for you and upload it there, so be sure to save a copy of it to your computer's hard drive. We had a thread a few days ago that gave a good free site for hosting images: http://barbecuebible.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=1002 . Or you can check with your Internet service provider to see if you're already paying for webspace with them. Once you have it hosted properly then you can link to it.

Have a smoky day! :D

Thanks for that link Bob. You can go back and look at all the old tags from your state. It's a lot of fun! Appreciate it.

Ditto on the thanx.

My name wouldn't fit on the chesapeake plate so I made a blank one and brought it into FreeHand to add the lettering. (I'm screen printer and graphic artist)
