Japanese barbecue. Ro refers to a square hearth found in traditional Japanese homes in the countryside. Yaki means "grilled." Robatayaki restaurants specialize in a huge selection of grilled items, from vegetables to seafood to Kobe beef, served theatrically on long paddles.
