Smoked Bourbon Maple Syrup

Maple Syrup And Brown Sugar Crusted Smoked Ham

This straightforward Smoked Bourbon Maple Syrup recipe elevates the classic maple syrup with a delightful smoky twist and a hint of bourbon’s warmth. The pure maple syrup is gently smoked, infusing it with a subtle yet distinctive flavor. Then, the bourbon reduction is whisked in, adding a depth of character that complements the syrup’s natural sweetness. A touch of salt balances the flavors, creating a unique and versatile condiment that can be enjoyed on pancakes, waffles, or even as a glaze for meats or vegetables.

Smoked Bourbon Maple Syrup

Recipe Notes

  • Yield: 2 cups

Ingredients

  • 2 cups pure maple syrup
  • 3 ounces bourbon
  • Salt, to taste

Recipe Steps

Step 1: Set up your smoker according to the manufacturer’s instructions and preheat to 225 degrees. Pour the maple syrup in a disposable aluminum foil pan and smoke for 1 hour.

Step 2: In the meantime, reduce the bourbon to half its volume by simmering in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk into the smoked maple syrup.

Step 3: Add salt to taste. Transfer to a small pitcher for serving. Store any leftovers in a covered jar in the refrigerator. Rewarm before serving.
