Join Steven Raichlen — the acclaimed authority on barbecue, best-selling cookbook author, and TV host — for an immersive grilling experience at our Culinary Center in Chicago. On Friday night, participants will enjoy a private welcome dinner at a James Beard award-winning chef’s event space. On Saturday, Raichlen will teach a hands-on class using the full range of Kalamazoo’s luxury outdoor kitchen appliances, including the Hybrid Fire Grill, Gaucho Grill and Artisan Fire Pizza Oven. Participants will learn about a variety of grilling and smoking techniques, including rotisserie roasting a whole animal over a live wood fire, grilling the perfect steak by combining direct and indirect heat, and mastering the art of smoking with the Kalamazoo competition-grade charcoal smoker cabinet.
