Our Best Ever Sandwiches for Super Bowl

Super Bowl came and went with Philly picking up the win!
What’s the best dish to eat when one hand holds a beer while reaching for the TV remote?
The dish invented by an inveterate gambler who slapped a slab of beef between two slices of bread so he could continue playing without leaving the card table?
That would be the sandwich, supposedly conceived by the English nobleman John Montagu, better known his official title, the Fourth Earl of Sandwich.
The sandwich has become one of the world’s great sports foods, and your grill or griddle only makes it better. Consider the Philly Cheesesteak, which a lot of Eagles fans will be eating the Super Bowl Sunday. I like to upscale it with ribeye.
Or our McRib Sandwich link—loaded with barbecued baby backs—an obvious choice for Chiefs fans.
Then there’s the Reuben—that classic mashup of corned beef, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut—here made even more delicious with the addition of pastrami. (Even better if you cure and smoke your pastrami from scratch.)
Down in my neck of the woods, we like Cubanos—a jaw-stretching combination of roast pork, ham, cheese, pickles, and mustard.
One of my favorite Super Bowl sandwiches is the Mile Long Bratwurst Sandwich—made with freshly grilled Wisconsin brats and served on baguettes lined up end to end. Two-foot, four-foot, six-foot—the length is limited only by your imagination and your guest list.
And since Super Bowl 2025 took place at Caesars Superdome, your must serve sandwich list should include the muffaletta—the Big Easy’s answer to the Italian cold cut sub.
