Cranberry Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 14-ounce bottle ketchup
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons molasses or honey
  • 1/2 medium onion, minced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup canned jellied cranberry sauce, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt (kosher or sea)

Recipe Steps

Step 1: Combine all the ingredients in a heavy nonreactive saucepan and gradually bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring or whisking steadily to dissolve the cranberry sauce.

Step 2: Gently simmer the sauce until thick and richly flavored, stirring often to prevent scorching, 15 to 20 minutes.
