Goat Cheese Poppers

This recipe is used with Duck Wing with Asian Seasonings in Project Fire Episode 409: Extreme Grilling

Goat Cheese Poppers

Recipe Notes

  • Yield: Makes 12
  • Method: Indirect grilling

Ingredients

  • 6 jalapeño peppers
  • 8 ounces goat cheese, chilled
  • 4 cinnamon tree bark leaves (optional; soaked for 30 minutes in water)
  • 4 tablespoons honey, or as needed
  • 2 teaspoons black or white sesame seeds

You’ll also need:

  • A melon baller (optional); drip pan

Recipe Steps

1: Slice the jalapeño peppers in half lengthwise and remove the ribs and seeds with a melon baller or small spoon. Slice the cheese into 12 pieces that fit into the jalapeño halves. Slice the cinnamon bark leaves lengthwise into 3 pieces each, if using. (Feel free to substitute another herb.) Arrange on top of the cheese. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Cook as described above.
