Smoky Barbecue Rub

  • Yield: Makes about 1 cup

  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup pimentón (Spanish smoked paprika)
  • 1/4 cup sea salt
  • 3 tablespoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon celery seeds

Step 1: Combine all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and stir to mix. (Use your fingers or a small whisk to break up any lumps.)

Step 2: Store the rub in an airtight container away from heat or light; it will keep for at least 6 months.
